Sector Gear Cam Shaft | Precision CNC Machined Components
The sector gear cam shaft converts continuous rotation into controlled partial rotation with a dwell profile — the classic requirement for dispensers, locks, valve actuators, and small automation mechanisms. A stainless steel shaft carries a machined gear sector and an integrated cam lever; as the shaft turns, the gear sector drives the output for part of the cycle while the cam controls timing and position .
The shaft is CNC turned and ground from ? 303 / 304 stainless steel?; the gear sector and cam are machined from and black-oxided. Tooth phase relative to the cam profile is fixed at machining — there is no assembly adjustment to drift in the field. Positioning holes along the shaft are cross-drilled in the same setup to keep true position.
H2: Key Features - Gear sector and cam machined in fixed phase — repeatable timing every cycle - Ground stainless shaft for smooth rotary support and corrosion resistance - Cam profile fully customizable to your motion/dwell requirement - One-piece machining avoids alignment drift of assembled two-part designs - First-article and dimensional reports supplied for approval
H2: Applications Dispensing mechanisms, smart locks and latch actuators, small valve operators, dosing and switching mechanisms in appliances and industrial devices.

FAQ 1. Can the cam profile be changed for a different dwell angle? Yes, the cam is machined to your motion profile; we can quote from a drawing or motion spec. 2. Do you assemble the mating gear as well? We can supply mating gears or a sub-assembly — quote both options from your drawing. 3. What tolerances can you hold on the shaft? Typical bearing journals ?h7/g6?; tighter on request after review.
